Dr. Riley Mehaffey
Born and raised in Greensburg, Pennsylvania just outside of Pittsburgh in the country. At 14 he knew he wanted to be a chiropractor as he was not finding care in medicine to help him with IBS. After receiving chiropractic care in high school his IBS vanished and helped him thrive and deal with injuries he sustained as the goalie on his varsity football team. His senior year was when chiropractic care saved his life. After suffering from his 8th concussion in 3 years he developed a myriad of issues. He was unable to remember his high school graduation, the last half of school, developed a speech impediment, severe depression and anxiety, short term memory loss, and was listed as mentally challenged by UPMC and was told he would not pass undergrad and never play sports again as he was listed as brain damaged. After receiving treatment from UPMC for months with absolutely no relief and worsening of his anger and depression he decided that he no longer wanted to deal with the pain and suffering any longer and take his life. After receiving an upper cervical adjustment all of the pressure on his brain stem was released and the first time in months felt relief and the ability to think properly. After 8 months of chiropractic care his concussion symptoms vanished and was able to focus in school and graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelors in natural sciences, while able to play intramural soccer. After figuring out that the root cause of his symptoms were due to a misalignment in the neck he knew that his intuition at 14 to be a chiropractor was the best decision he could have made.
While at Life University, Dr. Mehaffey was actively involved in many clubs on campus with his main focus in the Pierce Results System club as an executive leader and the Upper Cervical clubs.
